Liberty Hub Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited (LHMPCS) is a registered Cooperative Society. It was established as a Cooperative on 24th May, 2024 and duly Registered by the Kogi State Government Ministry of Agriculture & Cooperatives with registration No. KGS/13859. The Cooperative is highly regulated by KGS Bye laws for cooperatives.

Increasing demand for food is placing great pressure on the environment, on farmers, on processors and delivery of foods. Understanding and working along the value chains, we support local farmer’s producer cooperatives to become more professional. We also assist members to connect to these suppliers, improving sustainable sourcing of inputs. We view agribusiness as an ecosystem where all stakeholders need to be aligned. Thus, creating access to Finance, Technology and Market to ensure everyone has food for tomorrow.

Our Vision

OUR aim is creating the platform for 1 million informal and all in the food and agribusiness sector to access FINANCE, TECHNOLOGY and MARKET. Breeding a generation of successful agroprenuers and making the agricultural value chains more productive, more sustainable allowing agricultural entrepreneurs to make a decent living for their families and more attractive to finance support.

Our Mission is to serve as an activation engine to enable transactions large and small to everyday people for business solution to create new revenue streams for members. Solving the issues, using businesses to inspire and implement solutions and bridge the gap for 1 million entrepreneurs to be inspired, while growing the best product innovations especially in Agric value-chain.

 

Business Focus and Market Segment

Our primary course of business includes but not limited to the following:

  • Provide credit to our members, including formal and informal self-help groups, individuals and organisations;
  • Promote and monitor effective loan usage among our members by providing ancillary capacity building in such areas as record keeping, small business management, etc.;
  • Accept various types of deposits including savings, target and demand deposits from individuals, groups and coop organisations;
  • Invest surplus funds of the coop into SMEs and MSMEs that are thriving and monitor them to see that the funds achieve set goals.
  • Pay and receive interests as may be agreed upon between Liberty Hub coop and our members in accordance with existing guidelines;
  • Operate micro leasing facilities, finance hire purchase and arrange consortium lending and supervise credit schemes to ensure customers access to inputs for their economic activities;
  • Give guarantee in favour of our members to enable them have greater access to credit and other resources;
  • Buy, sell and supply on credit industrial and agricultural inputs, livestock, machinery and industrial raw materials, to economically disadvantaged persons and to act as agent for any organisations for the sale of such goods or livestock;
  • Invest in shares or equity for anybody in the cooperative with the objective to provide micro finance services to micro businesses;
  • Provide professional services to micro business regarding investments.
  • Render managerial, marketing, technical and administrative advice to members and assisting them in obtaining services in such fields;
  • Establish subsidiaries whether wholly or partly owned and to appoint agent in various locations for various activities which Liberty Hub may consider necessary for the proper discharge of its functions;
  • Mobilize and provide financial and technical assistance and training to micro enterprises; and
  • Perform non-banking functions and promote grassroots development such as supporting individuals, cooperative and group formation activities, rural industrialization and other support services.
